Reading this information and looking at the pictures, knowing what must have gone into this experiment to build our nation's interstate system, it is utterly amazing to look at and see what greatness this country came from, was made from, by the men and women of a lost era, those who BUILT and CREATED this country...... and when I look at where this country is headed now, with the current crooks and thugs in control.... it makes me just want to vomit.

I don't know if there is a historical marker off the interstate (on the south side of the test loop), but there is a little green sign on I-80 that says something like "AASHO Test Site 1958-60."

On a related note, there is a historical marker for the "Ideal Section" of the Lincoln Highway in Dyer, Indiana. It was an example of state-of-the-art highway design circa 1923.
